FOOD KITS DISTRIBUTION TO THE POOR

We undertake distribution of food kits to the poor in different parts of India.  This programme is undertaken in view of the continuing economic difficulties of the poorest sections of society arising from the two years of Covid-19-induced shutdowns and unemployment situation and the recent hike in food prices.  In 2022, as the NGO partner in the “Feeding India” programme of the Zomato India company, we undertook distribution of food kits to about 6000 poor families in different parts of Delhi and Kerala in the month of April 2022.   In 2023, we distributed 3000 food kits to the poor in Wayanad.   Read More.

PARTICIPATION IN CLEAN UP THE WORLD PROGRAMME

“Clean Up the World” programme is an international campaign that aims to mobilize individuals and communities to take action against littering and pollution. It provides a platform for organizations like GIRD to join forces with local communities, businesses, and governments to clean up public spaces and raise awareness about environmental issues.

Our volunteers in UAE have been enthusiastically participating in this programme every year since 2007.  Through their participation in this programme, GIRD volunteers contributed towards fostering a sense of responsibility towards our environment among the people in UAE who include people originally hailing from different parts of the world.
