The Green Institute for Research and Development (GIRD) is a non-profit Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability and conservation. At GIRD, we believe in the power of collective action to make a positive impact on our planet.
One of the ways in which GIRD actively contributes to environmental preservation is through the participation of our dedicated volunteers in various initiatives and programs in different parts of the world. Recently, Our volunteers among the Indian diaspora in UAE have been taking part since 2007 in the “Clean Up the World” programme held every year in Dubai.
The “Clean Up the World” programme is an international campaign that aims to mobilize individuals and communities to take action against littering and pollution. It provides a platform for organizations like GIRD to join forces with local communities, businesses, and governments to clean up public spaces and raise awareness about environmental issues.
Our passionate volunteers enthusiastically participate in this programme every year since 2007, joining with similar volunteers in UAE to work tirelessly to clean up areas across Dubai, collecting litter, sorting recyclables, and actively engaging with members of the community by educating them about sustainable waste management practices.
Through their participation in this programme, GIRD volunteers contributed towards fostering a sense of responsibility towards our environment among the residents of UAE who include people originally hailing from different parts of the world.
