Empowering Girl Students and Women of Poor Socio-Economic Background in Ballimaran Area of Old Delhi

With CSR Support from Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL)

With Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) support from Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), GIRD implemented the project of “Empowering Girl Students and Women of Poor Socio-Economic Background in Ballimaran Area of Old Delhi.” This project aimed to enhance educational infrastructure in government schools for girls and provide self-employment opportunities for women. Key activities included:

  • Installation of Water Coolers with RO Systems in government schools.
  • Provision of RO Systems for safe drinking water.
  • Distribution of desktop computers to improve digital literacy.
  • Setup of interactive smart boards to enhance learning experiences.
  • Distribution of sewing machines to support women’s self-employment.

  • The initiative directly benefitted approximately 2,500 girl students and 100 women from marginalized backgrounds.

  • Water coolers and RO systems provided to 7 schools to ensure safe drinking water for girl students and teachers.

  • Smart boards were provided to four girls’s schools
