Celebrating 25 Years of Transformative Impact

GIRD SILVER JUBILEE FUNCTION

To mark its Silver Jubilee, the Green Institute for Research and Development (GIRD) organized a special event on 28 April 2025 at Faiz Hall, Katra Dina Beg, Lal Kuan, Old Delhi, celebrating 25 years of impactful service to society.

As part of its commitment to promoting self-employment and economic empowerment, GIRD distributed sewing machines to 100 women from poor socio-economic backgrounds in the Ballimaran area of Old Delhi. This initiative aims to enhance livelihood opportunities and foster economic self-reliance among marginalized women.

The event was graced by Shri Imran Hussain, Hon’ble Member of the Legislative Assembly from Ballimaran constituency, as the Chief Guest, and Shri Mohd. Sadiq, Municipal Councillor of Ballimaran, as the Guest of Honour.

This initiative is a key component of GIRD’s ongoing project, "Empowering Girl Students and Women of Poor Socio-Economic Background in Ballimaran Area of Old Delhi", which is supported by Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. In addition to supporting women, the project also assists girl students by providing computer systems, smart boards, and water coolers with RO systems in local schools to enhance learning environments and ensure access to safe drinking water.

The function also showcased GIRD’s diverse and successful programs implemented over the years across different regions of India, reflecting its continued commitment to social development, education, and sustainability.
